Communities of Oakland Respond to Emergencies (CORE)
CORE helps people learn how to take care of themselves and their neighbors during an emergency.
If there is a major disaster in Oakland, firefighters, police, and other "first responders" won't be able to help everyone at once. Regular folks might need to get by on their own for the first 7-10 days after the disaster. CORE is a free program that teaches disaster survival skills and helps neighborhoods organize to help each other until professional help can arrive.
You can access most CORE forms, guides, and other support materials online.
