The Oakland Fire Department works to help and protect the people of Oakland. Our goals include stopping fires before they start, putting out fires as fast as we can, helping all members of the Oakland community lower their fire risks, and bringing emergency medical services to people who need them. The Oakland Fire Department deals with man-made and natural disasters, emergency preparedness, 9-1-1- services and other programs that keep Oaklanders safe from fire dangers.

Led by City Auditor Brenda Roberts, the Auditor's Office makes sure the City is accountable to all Oakland stakeholders. The Office conducts audits of City programs and shares the results with members of the Oakland community. The Auditor's Office works hard to operate responsibly, ethically, effectively, efficiently and in the best interests of the public.
